Mt. Yatsugatake in Japan, the name meaning “8 peaks”, is located on the border of Nagano Prefecture and Yamanashi Prefecture. Mount Yatsugatake is a complex volcano, which was made by repeated volcanic activities in many thousands years. Each of the "8 Peaks" of the volcano has it's own name. The last eruption was estimated from 600 to 800 years ago at Mount Kitayokodake of North Yatsugatake Mountains. The highest peak of the mountains is Mount Akadake and the elevation is 2,899 metres. | ||||
