Traditional wooden waterfront fishermen houses in the Ine Bay on the Tango Peninsula, located on the Japan Sea side of Honshu across the mountains from Kyoto. There are 230 of these boat houses, called “Funaya”. They circle the bay and at high tide appear to be floating. the lower level is for boat keeping, the upper for living quarters. | ||||
