Other Notes:
This print shows the guardian deity of Buddha. We see three pair of arms - one pair praying, another in supplication, a third pair offering embrace. A strong, complex, cubist type image. This is then repeated three times - as a black shadow, as a rust color enlarged version and a a light gray that is pushed down and partially cut off by the margin. Black is a predominant color in his Buddhist prints, unlike any earlier or later print series. The red seal appears on most of the prints of this period. It was not used on previous series or on any later series.
Condition:
Very good condition. Light wrinkling a lower left in the clear area. Drying tack hole in upper left margin corner, slight paper abrasion along the top margin edge on the back side. Silver mica in the pigment of the main image. Not matted or mounted.
