Embossed Staffordshire knot for Wm. Brownfield (“W.B.” inside knot)(Reference- Godden #661) and embossed “International”, registry mark “CO25” for Jan 25, 1862, lid counter weight marked with registry date of 1856.

Description:
"Classical Scenes" molded parian-ware lidded jug in white glaze with classical scenes in panels depicting science, art, music and commerce with weighted pewter top.

Other Notes:
This style jug in indentical design is pictured in Plate #91 of Geoffrey Godden's book "An Illustrated Encyclopedia of British Pottery and Porcelain."    
Condition:
Very good condition except for old tight 3” firing line around base on front (see last photo). The photos on the photo page are darkened to show detail on the white body.
