Newsstand, August 1939, Vol. 2, No. 8. soft covers, with the Freeman, tongue-in-cheeck color lithograph “Madonna of the Fire Escape”, McCulloch Catalogue #”E”. 25 pages excluding the front and back cover. Includes the illustration “Street Fight”, McCulloch “T”; and although not documented in McCulloch “R” as being in this issue- “They’re Mates - What More d’ya Want” - here it is. While the issue is entirely drawings and no articles, some drawings have lead in pages with a brief explanatory comment. A great example of Freeman's street art. | (click on image for photos) |
