Zúñiga Catalogue #274. State II, 33 prints, this number IV of XXXIII. Printed in one black on Copperplate deluxe brown (papel cafe) watermarked paper. Printed by Kyron Press, Mexico City, and published by Brewster Editions, New York. (Brewster #42). The regular edition of State I was 80 plus 28 various proofs printed in black on Copperplate White paper (papel blanco). State II also has 6 artist’s proofs and one cancellation proof. Signed, dated and inscribed “IV/XXXIII’, all in pencil lower left, Kyron Press Blindstamp at lower right. | (click on image for photos) |

This is an important work in that it links Zúñiga’s sculptural forms to reproducing a similar effect on the flat litho stone. The idea for the composition came from several sculptures made prior to 1978 which in turn were based on a photo snapped in the marketplace of Oaxaca. | ||||
