Description:
Edition of 121, printed on medium weight wove paper. Pencil inscription on lower sheet margin “Souir - #21 - Plate slightly less hot, extra silk wiping”. Signed lower right “Reynold Weidenaar A.M.A.” and titled lower left, both in pencil. Weidenaar seal on plate at lower right.

Other Notes:
This work was commissioned for the Print Collectors Society’s first Presentation Print. It won 9 awards including the 1950 Grumbacker Prize for Graphic Work from the Audubon Artists of the National Academy of Design. This work has two other related works - “Cathedral Repairs” of 1949 and “Darkness and Light” of 1952. The site is in Mexico City.

Fine condition. Matted and mounted with hinge mounts in new 100% rag mats.
