Description:
Portfolio of 20 etchings published for the Bicentennial Pageant of George Washington’s birth by the George Washington Memorial Association (founded in 1889, headquartered in Washington DC). Each etching by a different important artist of the day, all sheets watermarked with the “GW” circle mark at the lower left and the Washington coat of arms in the upper right. All pencil signed by the artist. Printed by Henry Carling of London on medium weight laid finish paper, with deckle edges all around. Noted artists include Heintzelman, Nisbit, Horter, Levy, Roth, West, Eby, Mora. Chamberlain, Rosenberg, Hassam.

There is no original portfolio, letterpress or other material - just the etching set while will be shipped in an archival portfolio box. All images, titles, sizes are listed in the downloadable pdf file found on the Artist List page.    
Condition:
All are in very good condition. A few minor handling creases on the sheet edges or minor soil on a deckle edge. No tears, hard creases, stains, foxing, etc. They have never been matted. (Individual sheet details in the pdf file)
