Description:
Image published in Harper's Weekly on Nov. 12, 1864, double page spread. Two full sheets are included, 8 pages of the paper, pgs. 725-732, pages include several civil war engravings, one by Nast “How the Copper Heads Obtain Their Votes”, plus two half pages by Wm. Waud: “Army of the James - General Butlers Headquarters” and “Army of the James - Signaling by Torches Across the James River from General Butlers Headquarters”. Signed on block to the right of “Election Day” - "Th Nast"

Other Notes:
Nast's small captions include "The election of the Union Candidates will bring peace" and "The victory at the ballot box will be in vindication of this Union and of our authority," (General McCellan was running against Lincoln in the presidential election.)    
Condition:
Good condition. Matted in new mats and mounted with corner mounts, age toning to paper, small tears along edges of paper, horizontal center fold from the paper, minor glue stains along center fold, some spots of foxing throughout.
