| Tsukasa Yoshida follows in the foot steps of his father Toshi Yoshida. He produced his first own woodblock print in 1970 at age 21 after learning from his father only after he reached age 20. In 1981 he was represented as the third generation of Yoshida family artists in the famous "Three Generations" exhibition in Philadelphia. In the 1990, Tsukasa Yoshida exhibited in a number of national and international shows in the U.S.A. and Australia. By 1996 he had produced over 30 prints. He carves his own blocks. Around 1980 he took over his father's responsibilities of managing the Yoshida Hanga Academy and since the mid-1980s has taught most of the students there. His first cousin, Ayomi, daughter of Toshi's brother Hodaka, is also a print maker. |
