| Osamu is a sosaku-hanga artist, cutting the blocks and printing his own blocks. He studied with Toshi Yoshida at the Yoshida Hanga Academy. In 2005 his work was accepted in the CWAJ print show in Tokyo, the most prestigious contemporary juried print show held annually in Japan. This was his first time in the that show, the print was "Morning Breeze (Gorapani Pass)". In 2006 he was accepted again with the print "Mt. Fuji in Slanting Light." He was accepted again in 2008 and 2009. His speciality is mountains and mountain climbing motifs and he has produced a series of prints showing the major mountains of Europe, Asia and Japan. |
