Sakamoto, Koichi

Japanese b. 1932

B. 1932 Tochigi

The artist works in etching and mezzotint. While his subjects are taken from nature, his later works incorporated a bit of fantasy in that the landscapes appear somewhat dreamy or unreal but never with any people. He has an extensive exhibition history in and outside of Japan and has been selected for the prestigious CWAJ (College Woman's Association of Japan) juried show of contemporary prints held in Tokyo each October. His appearance in the 2009 show was the 19th time his work has been selected. He is a member of the Japan Print Association.
