YUPING, Chen b. 1947  

 

Mr. Yuping is a member of the Chinese Printmakers' Association and the Chinese Artists' Association. He works at the Heilongijang Province Printmaking Institute and is vice-chairman and secretary general of the Provincial Print Council. His works reflect the landscape of the northern province of Heilongjiang.

He has a long history of awards dating back to 1974 when an early work was selected for publication in the catalogue to "Chinese modern artworks" organized by UNESCO. His prints have been in numerous National Print Exhibitions and two books of his work have been published. He has had solo exhibitions in Japan. Most recently his work was accepted in the First International Guanlan Print Biennial 2007 in Shenzen, China. Only 223 works were accepted of 1,976 submitted by 1,145 artists from 57 nations. In September 2007 his work was accepted at the 18th National Chinese Printmaking Exhibition, held in Shanghai. 2400 artists had submitted works and only 215 were admitted.
